Another custom tattoo design--this time, a fierce and watchful guardian for the client's upper back!  :)

As always: this a one-of-a-kind design for my client--please DO NOT take or use without permission. If you would like to commission a tattoo design of your own, leave a comment or you can e-mail me through my website at www.rhpotter.com.

About, on average, how much do one of these designs cost? Considering it, once I get some steady income again. (Being between jobs is never easy.)

Hi!  A black and white single figure design, like most of my kitsune, usually run between $75-100 USD (closer to $75 for fewer tails, closer to $100 for a full nine), and color usually runs an extra $25 or so. If you want a more complicated design (multiple figures or a more detailed background), then I usually have to do a custom quote based on how long I think it will take.

I hope this helps--feel free to let me know if you have any questions.  And good luck in the job search!  :)

I see. Bit much for me to do all at once, but if you're willing to accept a series of payments, then we'll see about it. I'm looking for art of a kitsune that I can use as, say, an icon or an ID. May get it as a tattoo, or may not. I use one of them to represent myself creatively and I absolutely love the bold simplicity of your style.

Depending on the size of the payments, that's definitely doable.  I normally split all my commissions in half, with the first half due at the start and the rest only due once the design is completely done.  For larger projects, I have split it up into more payments to help break down the cost a little more.

And if you do want a design, I'd be more than happy to send the finished work in whatever formats you would find most useful, whether for a tattoo, personal emblem, or anything else.  Feel free to e-mail or message me anytime if you'd like to toss some ideas back and forth.  :)

I've admired your work for quite some time, particularly your use of color and shading.  I'm curious, do you know how your client's get their tattoo work done?  It seems like your work would be best represented by watercolor tattoos.

I'm afraid I don't know--each client picks their own tattoo artist, and I just provide the final artwork and an outlined pattern for the artist to use.  So it probably really comes down to the technique and skill of the individual tattoo artist.  I have had clients that were kind enough to send me photos of the finished tattoos, and their artists really did a great job rendering them, though.  If you're curious. you can see some of them on the tattoo page at my website at www.rhpotter.com.  :)
