Hollow

This week's Illustration Friday prompt: 'Hollow'.

I had a lot of different ideas for this prompt ... But the one that stuck is something that's actually a pretty common sight here in the Pacific NW--a hollow stump of a tree long dead, with a new sapling growing right out of the old wood. That's always resonated with me, the idea of something hollow and dead still capable of nurturing new life ...
